Hoptown looks back to Night Riders Raid

 

(Kentucky New Era) The streets of downtown Hopkinsville echoed with the booms of shotguns, the cracks of pistols and the click and clack of horseshoes on pavement Friday night during the third annual Night Riders Tobacco Raid re-enactment.
The tour was part of the Tobacco War Pilgrimage weekend, hosted by the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County.
Four large trailers lined with hay bales and filled with more than 400 spectators made their way through town for the re-enactment, stopping at the various spots the Night Riders burned and destroyed during the Dec. 7, 1907 raid. Continued
