Tobacco prices rule firm this year

 

(Hindu Business Line) Bangalore, April 4: The Tobacco Board has marketed 90 million kg (mkg) of FCV tobacco grown in Karnataka this crop year (2012-13).
“As tobacco auctions in Karnataka are to close in a week’s time, the board so far has marketed about 90 per cent of the authorised crop of 100 mkg fixed for the State at an average price of Rs 117.27 a kg,” K.N. Vishakantiah, Regional Manager–Tobacco Board. told Business Line. Continued
