(The Hindu Business Line) The Tobacco Board has been marketing daily 1.2 million kgs of Flue Cured Virginia (FCV) tobacco at various auction platforms in Karnataka for the last 15 to 20 days.
According to Tobacco Board officials, “Growers have begun to offer good quantity of their produce at all the auction platforms, as the prices have stabilised. Initially, they were reluctant and apprehensive of price fluctuation but now not much withdrawal is happening at the platforms.”
With good quantity of bright grades entering the market, prices have maintained last year’s level. Continued
