It seems counterintuitive: why make a ligero cigar from tobacco known to be mild? Because it tastes good, that's why. This is not a powerhouse cigar, but it is strong, for a Dominican blend, and that's another point: if you like Dominican tobacco but find it a little too mild, this is a great cigar to try. On the other hand, if you won't drink anything under 100 proof, enjoy Tabasco based cough syrups, and think the black rope tobacco is for wimps, then pass this one by. By definition, the Ligero is a bit monochromatic, but the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper adds a little complexity to the thing, making the smoke fairly interesting. All in all, a nice strong, but not too strong, cigar. Recommendation: Recommended.
