Jailed former owner of tobacco companies withdraws lawsuit

 

(myfox8.com) WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Convicted felon Calvin Phelps has complied with a U.S. District Court judge’s order that he withdraw a lawsuit that attempted to halt the final liquidation stage of the Mocksville tobacco companies he once owned and operated, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Judge William Stocks ordered Dec. 15 that Phelps comply with his order or face contempt charges and other potential sanctions, according to legal filings submitted Wednesday. Continued
