Charleston's historic Cigar Factory getting ready for its next act

 

(postandcourier.com) From Reconstruction to the Great Recession, the building known as the Cigar Factory has stood firm.
Now, the brick industrial fortress, which has weathered natural and man-made calamities, is preparing for its next act.
William Cogswell shows off the place, leaning on the tour-guide skills he honed in downtown Charleston during his college breaks.
"To rebuild this today is impossible," he said during a walk-through of the five-story, 244,000-square-foot structure last week. Continued
