PESHAWAR (thenews.com.pk) Different associations of farmers Thursday asked the government to review tobacco prices and fix new rates after consultation with representatives of growers.
Addressing a press conference here, President of Anjuman-e-Kashtkaran Abdul Haleem Khan said that the tobacco prices were low and unacceptable to the growers. He said the cost of production had increased from 0.25 to five per cent.
“The cost of tobacco crop has increased manifold after the surge in the prices of fertilisers and seeds and different direct and indirect taxes,” he added. Continued
