Malawi tobacco farmers bemoan low prices


(The Post Online) TOBACCO farmers in Malawi have expressed discontent over the low commodity prices prevailing on the market. Tobacco is selling for an average of half a dollar (approximately ZK2,400) per kilogramme in Lilongwe and Limbe, the two major selling points. The sale of the commodity was suspended indefinitely on Monday due to protests from farmers on the price, but as at Wednesday, the two selling points had resumed trading. Continued
