USDA PROJECTS FLUE-CURED PRODUCTION WILL FALL 22%


(Tobacco Farmer Newsletter) Flue-cured production for all U.S. states is forecast at 231 million pounds, down 22 percent from 2019, according to USDA's July Crop Production report. Acreage at 120,500 acres is 19 percent below last year. Yield for the 2020 crop year is forecast at 1,919 pounds per acre, 71 pounds below last year.
