Oshkosh once home to booming cigar industry

 

(thenorthwestern.com) Oshkosh residents who find little old wooden boxes with graphics like "Senero," "Chief Oshkosh" and "Estimada" might be surprised to find they're more than just junk.
Larry Spanbauer, a local historian and secretary of the Oshkosh Memorabilia Club, has discovered a little known fact about Oshkosh — it once had a booming cigar industry.
After two years of research, he recently published a book detailing how Oshkosh manufactured more than 200 different brands of cigars. Continued
