Cigar aficionado opens luxury lounge in McAllen

 

(Themonitor.com) McALLEN, TX - Through the glass windows of a cigar humidor — an air controlled environment that keeps steady humidity levels and tobacco fresh — a mini bar and piano are tucked inside a lounge connected to IL Regalo Preferito, a new cigar and luxury goods shop in McAllen near Ware Road along Expressway 83.
“Cigars need two things, humidity and Spanish cedar. It gives them the flavor — kind of like salt,” said Jorge Gonzalez, a 43-year-old Laredo man who two decades ago started the business that means “the preferred gift” in Italian. “We are trying to stimulate all the five senses of the cigar smoker.” Continued
