Phelps tries to stop liquidation of bankrupt tobacco companies

 

(News & Record) Convicted felon Calvin Phelps is trying to halt the final liquidation stage of the Mocksville tobacco companies he once owned and operated.
Phelps, representing himself, said in a legal notice Tuesday he wants a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge to issue a stay in proceedings. He filed his complaint from a federal correctional facility in Beaver, W.Va. Continued
