(York Dispatch) For the first time in 15 years, a cigar factory will not be in operation in Red Lion when the giant fake cigar is raised on New Year's Eve.
Van Slyke & Horton Inc., the last remaining factory from the industry that built the town, closed early this year.
"It's kind of sad we don't have a cigar manufacturer in this town anymore," said Joe Valenti, chairman of the Red Lion Area New Year's Eve Committee. "It's a shame."
