Hopkins woman takes tobacco tying crown



(Eastern Wake News) ... neither time nor modernization could taper the talents cured into Jackson's bones. Though nearly 50 years had passed since her last tying experience, Jackson won the tobacco tying contest at this year's State Fair.
"I was so nervous. I told my friends, 'I'm probably going to embarrass y'all,' " Jackson said.
