Tobacco crop ‘varied in maturity’


(Tillsonburg News) There is consistent inconsistency in the 2011 tobacco crop.
"We've got everything from tobacco that has been topped to tobacco just hilled for the last time," said Ontario Flue-Cured Tobacco Growers' Marketing Board chair Fred Neukamm Monday morning.
This year's crop is around 18,890 acres says Neukamm. "That's give or take a few."
That figure is down slightly from last year's total. Continued
