(CSN) Citing "an abundance of caution," Lorillard Inc. has issued a voluntary call of certain Newport Non-Menthol cigarettes.
The company made the precautionary move after discovering the possibility that some Newport Non-Menthol cigarettes made on June 29 and 30 could contain small pieces of plastic. Upon the discovery, Lorillard executives turned to the Food and Drug Administration for guidance, according to a company release.
Lorillard stressed that, at this point, no plastic has been found in any of the cigarettes. Continued
