(newsday.co.zw) A group of Chinese investors from Hubei province who are working in partnership with tobacco growers in Manicaland have said they plan to increase the hectarage of their contract farming project to 600 hectares.
Addressing journalists in Harare last week, spokesperson of Hubei provincial government, Li Chunming, said the Chinese market had high regard for the quality of tobacco from Zimbabwe.
“We intend to increase the number of farming hectares to grow more tobacco to about 600 hectares and to expand on the vegetables farming area in the next season,” said Li. Continued
