Chess, cigars at Friday Fest

(Polk County Democrat) ... That’s not all that’s in store on Friday night in Downtown Bartow. Thompson Cigar Factory Redevelopment Project Team will feature a woman hand rolling cigars from tobacco leaves in the traditional manner. The team is raising money for restoration of the historical Bartow factory on Third Avenue. Team members will be on hand to explain the importance of the project and the possible uses for the building, that could contribute to the economy and cultural life of the Bartow area. T-shirts featuring a rendering of the factory will be sold to help raise funds and awareness of the project. Continued
