(GoDanRiver) Back when Pittsylvania County native Vernon Giles was growing up, his daddy, Jack Giles, used to drive him crazy talking about growing tobacco.
“My daddy was always talking and if you would listen, you would learn something. In my teenage years, though, I let his talk go in one ear and out the other, for I had other things on my teenage brain, like girls, horses, playing ball. But after he died, like a recording, all of his talk started playing over and over in my mind and I knew that I had to write a book,” Giles said. Continued
