(macauhub) The Mozambique Leaf Tobacco (MLT), a company based in Tete province, in central, north-eastern Mozambique, this year expects to produce 65,0000 tons of tobacco, according to Rod Hagger, cited by Mozambican news agency AIM.
Hagger said that the company had started out producing 24,000 tons, “but given the high level of investment we have made in tobacco production in Tete, this year we want to reach 65,000 tons.”
Hagger said that the company is motivated to increase its production in the country because of the investment the Mozambican government had been making in the infrastructure sector, particularly roads and bridges, which make it easier to distribute the tobacco and other goods. Continued
