There are two distinct cigar cultures in the United States: There is the Richie Rich smoker who has, or at least pretends to have, a lot of money to burn and considers himself the height of style and taste, and then there is the working-guy smoker who's tastes don't range far from the 7-11. If you are in the former group, then you can take this list at face value, if you are in the latter group, there aren't any bargains here, though that doesn't mean you should skip reading it.
Cigar Aficionado only covers "premium, handmade cigars from all around the world," and has never claimed otherwise. When you consider that the magazine's Cigar of the Year, the Cohibe Behike BHK 52 costs £28.70 (40 some dollars), for a single cigar, then you can see why they think of a five dollar cigar as a bargain.
At Firecured, we have our feet firmly planted in both camps, smoking whatever tastes good and look down on neither faction. It's our belief that any true cigar smoker can find a good smoke at any price range. There are some great cigars on this list, and even if you only buy one premium cigar a year, or one bargain cigar a year, it's worth a look. Best Bargain Cigars of 2010
