(WLS) Chicago Customs and Border Protection officers seized a record number of Cuban cigar shipments sent from Switzerland.
In just the last two weeks, CBP officers at O'Hare International Airport have seized 30,000 Cuban cigars. More than 70,000 cigars were already detained. Continued
Update: "On November 8, the Department of Homeland Security decided that no mail weighing more than 16 ounces could travel as cargo on passenger airlines; so the mail was shipped as freight on cargo aircraft, which is subjected to closer scrutiny." - Tobacco Reporter
