Smokers find refuge in cigar venues, casinos


(petosky news) Legal loopholes thinner than smoke rings will keep some smokers pinching their favorite smoldering tobacco product, despite a ban set to take effect Saturday morning.
Although restaurants and bars are off limits, other locations such as casinos, specialty tobacco shops and cigar bars are among the few sovereign havens for people looking to a puff in public.
Mike Nolan, the president of the Michigan Cigar Association and a owner of Nolan's Tobacco in Traverse City, said he anticipates many people will apply for the special "cigar bar" designation this month following the ban, but expects few to actually qualify. Continued
